π Stop 1: High-Tech Polyhouse in Arihal, Pulwama
Visited the high-tech polygreenhouse of Shri Adil Abas Mir, a progressive farmer and software engineer turned agricultural entrepreneur.
- Location: Arihal, Agri Zone Hawl, Pulwama.
- Project Details:
- Size: 500 sq. m.
- Subsidy: βΉ20.50 lakh (95%) under the HADP scheme (2024-25).
- Focus: High-tech vegetable production with modern techniques, paving the way for agricultural innovation.
π€ Stop 2: Honoring Agricultural Officials in Zone Hawl
Warmly welcomed by Reyaz Ahmad Para, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), and other officials from Zone Hawl.
- Key Visit: Hi-tech nursery demonstration structure.
This visit emphasized the role of advanced nursery management in enhancing crop productivity.

Visited the farm of Shri Gh. Nabi Magray, who received a 95% subsidy (βΉ1.90 lakh) under the HADP scheme for a low-cost greenhouse.
- Current Crops: Off-season vegetables.
- Impact: Enhanced profitability through year-round cultivation.
π₯ Stop 5: Seed Production Cluster in Borihalan, Heerpora
Inspected the seed production cluster with Suheeb Hamid, AEO, in Borihalan, Shopian.
- Project Details:
- Crop: Foundation seed potatoes (variety: Kufri Gaurav).
- Subsidy & Benefits:
- Farmers receive seeds at βΉ2,700/quintal and sell harvested certified seeds to the government at βΉ4,700/quintal (including a βΉ1,000/quintal incentive).
- Yield: 5 quintals per kanal.
- Variety Features: High yield, nutrient efficiency, and adaptability to stress conditions.
This initiative is a benchmark for integrated seed production systems, ensuring farmer profitability and regional food security.

From witnessing high-tech greenhouses to sustainable seed production clusters, the day underlined the commitment of farmers and the Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir toward modernizing and diversifying agriculture under HADP. The support from the Office of the LG, J&K, led by Hon’ble Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, continues to empower farmers across the valley.
