Day 7 of the 1100+ KM Mission Organic Kashmir was marked by enriching visits to Lar, Ganderbal and Sumbal, Bandipora, where we witnessed the incredible dedication of farmers, agricultural leaders, and progressive initiatives under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP).
π± Stop 1: Lar, Ganderbal π±
Our day began with a warm welcome in Zone Lar, Ganderbal, by Syed Murtaza Hussain Razvi, Junior Agriculture Extension Officer.
Key Highlights of Lar:
- Farm Operating Families: Approx. 5,000 families contribute to the regionβs agricultural output.
- Agricultural Area: Covers around 1,400 hectares of fertile land.
- Panchayats in Jurisdiction: Comprises 12 panchayats that thrive on farming activities.
- Major Crops: Dominated by rice and oilseed cultivation, showcasing the zoneβs diverse agricultural potential.
Lar exemplifies the transformative power of programs like HADP, which focus on sustainable farming and economic empowerment of farmers.
In Sumbal, Bandipora, the day continued with engaging visits and interactions.

We explored the field of Shri Mohmad Kamal Ji, a progressive farmer representing innovation in agriculture.
Key Achievements:
- Shri Kamal Ji implemented a 155 sq. ft. high-tech polyhouse, provided under the HADP scheme.
- This modern infrastructure enables year-round cultivation, better crop management, and increased yields.
- Supported by the Office of the Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, this initiative reflects the visionary leadership of Honβble Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha Ji.
