This morning marked a monumental beginning as the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) Bicycle Journey was officially flagged off by Shri Rahul Yadav Ji, IAS, Mission Director of HADP. The ceremony took place at the Department of Horticulture, Jammu, in the presence of Shri C.L. Sharma Ji, Director of Horticulture, Jammu, and various dedicated staff members of the Horticulture Department.

The event was an inspiring start to our mission of promoting sustainable agricultural and horticultural practices across the Jammu region.

Jammu Horticulture: A Hub of Innovation and Opportunity

The Department of Horticulture in Jammu has been at the forefront of introducing modern techniques and fostering the cultivation of high-value crops. Some key highlights from this event include:

A Visit to India’s First Carbon-Neutral Panchayat: Palli, Samba 🌿☀️

Today, we had the privilege of visiting Palli Panchayat, District Samba—India’s first carbon-neutral panchayat. The village has set an inspiring example of sustainable development, aligning with the nation’s green energy goals.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a 500 kW solar power plant was dedicated to the nation in Palli. This transformative project has propelled this small hamlet in Jammu and Kashmir’s border region to become a symbol of carbon-neutral progress and innovation.

This visit exemplifies the potential of renewable energy and sustainable practices in transforming rural communities into self-reliant, eco-friendly hubs.
