The 11th day of our horticulture mission in Jammu was packed with interactions, farmer success stories, and inspiring tales of transformation under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP). The Reasi district showcased how government schemes and farmer enthusiasm are driving horticulture to new heights.
π Stop 1: Empowering Farmer Jatinder Singh π₯
Location: Bhabar Brahhmana
Jatinder Singh, a progressive farmer, has already benefitted from subsidies under HADP for strawberry π plantation and the purchase of a tractor π. He is now applying for a geo-portable tank under P15 of HADP and is motivated to establish a dragon fruit π΅ mother block and rootstock bank under P21.

π³ Stop 2: Engaging with Beneficiaries in Bhabbar Brahmnana π
Location: Orchard of Ghulam Nabi
Ghulam Nabi has made remarkable strides under HADP, including benefits under the Capex 80:20 scheme for area expansion and a power tiller with a 50% subsidy. His achievements reflect the potential of leveraging government schemes for impactful farming.

π§ Stop 3: Borewell and Geotank Success with Gurbachan Singh
Location: Mansoo
Gurbachan Singh has benefitted from subsidies for borewells and geotanks under HADP. He is now planning to apply for a packhouse under P15 with support from the Horticulture Department.

π΅ Stop 4: Kamal Singh’s Custom Hiring Centre Initiative π
Location: Mansoo
Kamal Singh has successfully established a Custom Hiring Centre with a subsidy under HADP. We encouraged him to establish a dragon fruit mother block on 2-3 kanals under P21, further enhancing his horticultural journey.

π₯ Stop 5: Reviving Mango Orchards with Bagh Hussain
Location: Bhabbar
Bagh Hussain, a mango orchardist with 50-60 aged trees, is rejuvenating his orchard under P21 of HADP. He is also exploring opportunities to establish a geo-portable tank and purchase a tractor under P9 of HADP.
