The 10th day of our horticulture journey was a remarkable one, filled with inspiring stories, meaningful discussions, and impactful engagements. From recognizing retired soldiers turned farmers to interacting with government officials and progressive orchardists, the day highlighted the transformative potential of HADP in Jammu’s horticulture sector.
π Stop 1: Meeting Mohd Aslam Bhat β A Soldier Turned Kiwi Farmer π₯

Choosing kiwi plantation as his path, he received expert guidance and technical support from the Horticulture Department in Udhampur. His efforts were celebrated on December 4, 2024, when he was felicitated by Indian Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, at the Northern Command Headquarters.
πͺ Mohd Aslam’s story exemplifies the power of determination and how government support can pave the way for success in innovative farming.
